CISO Global
Building a brand system from the inside out
THE CHALLENGE
CISO Global was growing rapidly, but its brand wasn’t keeping pace. The company had a logo, a color and no standards for how the organization should present itself across audiences and channels. Cybersecurity communications also leaned heavily on the industry’s familiar language of fear and threat.

MY ROLE
Led the creative transformation while managing a team across design, copywriting, web development, and social/digital marketing.
THE APPROACH
First, we built the foundation: stabilized the logo, expanded the visual palette, established brand guidelines, and created repeatable systems for consistent execution. Then we changed the story. Instead of presenting cybersecurity primarily through fear, we positioned CISO Global visually and verbally as a confident business partner helping organizations move forward securely.
The resulting system was deployed across case studies, white papers, digital advertising, social media, web and landing pages, sales presentations, shareholder communications, HR, and executive materials.
IMPACT
A fragmented identity became a scalable brand system that could grow with
the organization.

IMPACT
New brand tools equipped teams across the organization to communicate with greater consistency and confidence.
THE BROKEN LOGO
When I came onboard as Creative Director at CISO, the logo was in rough shape. A previous freelancer had provided it but it had uneven kerning, the “Saturn Swoop” created confusing and awkward line convergences, and there was only one color. The bigger problem was the organization had already begun the legal process of trademarking the logo. I had to fix it’s flaws quickly without straying too far from the original.

The original uneven logo.
The updated, fixed logo set on a grid with consistent kerning, but similar enough to satisfy legal.
BRAND GUIDELINES
The refreshed CISO identity needed a system that could scale across the organization. Working with my team, we developed comprehensive brand guidelines that brought typography, color, imagery and visual language into one flexible framework, giving teams and partners the tools to create consistent, recognizable brand experiences across every touchpoint.

EXPAND THE BRAND
Once the brand was established and stable, it was a natural progression to flow it into all material both customer facing and internally.

HAVING SOME FUN
One way to help establish CISO as a friendly business partner, and dispel some of the industries fear-based advertising was to develop some light-hearted social media campaigns. These campaigns were instrumental in our rapid increase in followers.
